Long exposures and point and shoot digital cameras don't really mix so well. The maximum time on a G9 is 15 seconds, which isn't that much. I definitely shoot in RAW and at 80 ISO as even with 100 ISO a little noise can creep into the image. Even then, I definitely have to sharpen my images significantly as these files seem a little mushy to me. I really only use the G9 for night shots for testing or when it is the only thing I have. A much better Point and Shoot digital Camera would be the Ricoh GRD II which has limited availability and warranty in the States. I had the previous version, and loved it. Maximum exposure times of up to 3 minutes and the images are very clean and....film like! Of course I would only shoot that camera at the lowest ISO, 64, and RAW as well. I hope to test the Leica D-Lux 3 this weekend which also shoot in RAW and has a maximum exposure of 60 seconds.

Gabriel,

What sort of clean(-ish) long exposures can you get out of a G9?

Best date I have been on in a long time. Gabe said it all... but just to clarify- the two 4x5 were a Super Graflex, Dagor 6 inch and a wide leonardo. And yes- Iron Man did rock. Nanaanananannnnaaannnnaaaannnnnaaa
